PRP Platelet Rich Plasma

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a concentrate of platelets and growth factors obtained from the patient's own blood. During the PRP process, a sample of the patient's blood is drawn and centrifuged to separate and concentrate the platelets and growth factors into a special plasma.

Mechanism of Action of PRP

Platelets are blood cells that contain growth factors and bioactive proteins that play a key role in the healing process. When PRP is administered to the injured or affected area, the growth factors released by the platelets stimulate cell proliferation, the formation of new blood vessels and the repair of damaged tissue.

PRP is used in a variety of medical specialties and treatments to promote healing and tissue regeneration, including:

  • Orthopedics: Treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, such as tendinitis, ligament injuries, osteoarthritis and sports injuries.
  • Dermatology: Therapy to improve wound healing, treat alopecia (hair loss) and rejuvenate the skin.
  • Aesthetic Medicine: Improvement of skin texture and elasticity, facial rejuvenation and scar treatment.
